Some kind words from our guests...

Stayed at Sheila & Alan's with a friend. We were cycling the Walney to Wear and Kendal was our first stop.

An exceptionally friendly and helpful couple, genuinely interested in what you were doing and happy to provide a local input where necessary.

The breakfast was excellent - home made everything, which set us up for the day. Plus the absolute bonus of Sheila's offer to wash our cycling clothing, which was not entirely altruistic - but in a nice way!!

No hesitation in recommending a stay at Bridge House.

Along with 2 friends, I stayed at Bridge House on Saturday 6th June, 2015 at the end of 4 days of enoyable walking along the Dales Way.

In fact, our walk finished at Burneside, a couple of miles away, and, weary as we were, Sheila came to pick us up.

Bridge House was the best accommodation we stayed in along the way, with the added bonus of a lovely deep bath to soak in. The rooms are very comfortable and Sheila and her husband are very friendly. The breakfast was superb - freshly baked bread too. We were sad to leave, but Sheila gave us a lift to Oxenholme and told us there was a lovely little pie shop around the corner from the station. It's the little touches that really count.

Sheila is a very pretty and kind ex-homecare and cookery teacher who easily tops Martha Stewart for d├ęcor and design, but is far better than that: her breakfasts are a feast, with eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, bacon, fresh-brewed coffee, orange juice, and cereal.

Thank you so much for picking us up when we were more than fed up with the rain and really soaked! Thanks to you and your husband we continued our Dales Way this morning with all our stuff dry and comfortable!
After the interesting visit of the tapestry exhibition in the Quaker house we had a very good last day of the Dales Way with beautiful scenery and nice weather!
We had a good lunch at the More? Bakery in Stavely, just as you suggested!
Thank you very much for looking after us!

Hi Sheila
Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful hospitality, it was a real pleasure staying in your beautiful home, the added benefits of collecting us in the pouring rain from Burnside and returning us the next day, the superb homemade bread at breakfast, the very comfortable room all made our stay a truly memorable one. Thank you so much Viv & Mick
